How do I make a reservation?
Visit marshallfieldswalnutroom.com. A credit card is required to hold the reservation but will not be charged unless a cancellation policy applies.
If your preferred time is full, continue checking the website.
Use the OpenTable Alert feature on the app to receive an email or text when a table becomes available. Availability is shared with everyone requesting that date, so act quickly.
Large parties of 21-50 guests:
Private dining is available in the Culinary Studio with a Celebration menu.
Pricing starts at $50 for adults and $20 for kids.
Cancel at least 7 days before the reservation date to avoid a $10-per-guest cancellation fee.
The Great Tree & Fairy Princesses
When is the Great Tree lit?
Saturday, November 7, 2026, through Sunday, January 10, 2027.
Can I request a table by the tree?
Table assignments cannot be guaranteed at any time.
Can I take a photo without a reservation?
Only guests with a reservation can enter the restaurant.
There will be a selfie spot located outside of the restaurant with a
view of the tree and a wonderful photo opportunity.
Will the Fairy Princesses visit?
Yes. Fairy Princesses will visit daily from November 7, 2026 through January 10, 2027.
Holiday Menu & Dietary Needs
What will be featured on the holiday menu?
Traditional favorites including Mrs. Hering’s Chicken Pot Pie, Marshall Field’s Favorites from the archives and additional a la carte selections.
Can dietary needs be accommodated?
The menu identifies items that can be prepared gluten-free or vegetarian/vegan. Please notify your server of your dietary needs when you arrive.

Dining Time & Important Reminders
- Dining time is limited to 90 minutes in consideration of other guests.
- Tree-view table assignments are not guaranteed.
- Check OpenTable before visiting for current reservation availability.
Arrival, Check-In & Walk-Ins
Where do I go once I enter the State Street Store?
- Take the express elevators near Randolph and State in the 1st floor handbag department up to the 7th floor. The Marshall Field’s Walnut Room is located on the 7th floor.
- Look for the reservation check-in sign and present the confirmation text or email from OpenTable.
- Arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Reservations will be canceled if the full party hasnot arrived within 15 minutes after the reservation time.
What If I don’t have a reservation?
A limited number of high-top seats may be available at the Wine Bar for walk-ins. Please ask the host for availability.
- The full menu is available and all ages are welcome.
- Highchairs and strollers cannot be accommodated at the Wine Bar.
- There is no waitlist or pager system.
